Abstract:
The present short paper is an attempt to define modernity where Modern Age is thought of as self-justifying itself in relation to other historical eras according to the different ways of how aspects of time are experienced. In this way, it is argued, Antiquity lived primarily in the future as past without any priority of time over eternity and conversely that the Middle Ages lived in the future as present due to the priority of eternity over time; respectively - that Modern Age lives in the present as future due to the priority of time over eternity.
