Abstract:
This article examines the possibilities for designing, developing, and implementing a digital escape room as a method of facilitating mathematics education. The process of creating a digital escape room, tailored to the mathematics curriculum for the lower secondary school stage, as well as the age and cognitive characteristics of the students, is presented. Additional attention is paid to the integration of mathematical content into an interactive game environment. It stimulates the active participation and independent thinking of the students. After implementing the developed digital escape room in a real learning environment, the results are discussed and its impact on the motivation, engagement and academic achievements of students is analyzed. The obtained data show a positive effect on the learning process and confirm the effectiveness of gamification as an approach in teaching mathematics.
