Issues in Spoken Communication

The periodical Issues in Spoken Communication is a continuation of Problems of Bulgarian Colloquial Speech and it has been included in the national reference list. The volumes are published as post-conference collective monographs which include papers written by specialists in spoken communication from Bulgaria, as well as from abroad.

 

The main topics in the periodical are:

  1. Spoken communication and colloquial speech: verbal and non-verbal aspect of communication; formal and informal communication, informal Internet communication etc.
  2. Public speaking: colloquialization of media discourse, innovations in media discourse and academic discourse, linguistic influence, etc.
  3. Oral speech in fiction: stylization of oral speech, the problem of skaz, etc.
  4. Sociolinguistic aspect of spoken communication: spoken communication in intercultural communication, spoken communication in the language of various social groups and territorial groups, etc.
  5. Pragmatics. Linguoculturology. Problems of teaching spoken communication: aspects of teaching a language as a second/foreign language, teaching spoken communication, psychological aspect of spoken communication, studying the inofficial worldview, mistakes in mixing oral and written speech, etc.
