Abstract:
Current article is an attempt to extend the observation of the registered lately speech practices for using less frequently of the forms expressing politeness and their replacement with forms for informal addressing. A questionnaire was conducted for this purpose aimed at extracting not only the factors influencing the choice of the person initiating the process of communication, but also featuring the perception of the addressee. Marked already in the linguistic literature trend for progressive substitution of specific forms expressing politeness shortens the social distance – no matter if such use is done deliberately or as a result of lacking skills for proper assessment of the concrete parameters of interpersonal communication. – Thus the perception of the addressee is not always positive. That brings a relative consensus on the necessity to up-date the presentation of the forms expressing politeness for training purposes through adding relevant socio- and psycholinguistic components as well as other implicit politeness models.
