Abstract:
The article presents the Hapax legomena found in The Dionysian translation of the homilies about Lazarus and the Rich Man by St. John Chrysostom. It provides information about the translation techniques used by Dionysius Divni and how his creative approach to translation had an impact on the lexical enrichment of the Bulgarian literary language in the 14th century. As a result of the excerpted lexical material, it can be concluded that the scholar was not only a brilliant translator but also an innovator because he introduced and applied word forms that are not found in any other Slavic texts.
