Резюме:
The study presents an example of temple consecration practices in the Second
Bulgarian Empire, rarely recorded in archaeological research. In the temple built
in the 1330s, Church No. 22 in the Trapezitsa Fortress (the second fortified core of
Tarnovo, the capital of the Empire), nearly 20 objects of Christian art and cult were
discovered, which had been used for the consecration of this temple and for the accumulation
of sanctity. Their varied composition and age, as well as the urban environment
of Church No. 22, which was the parish church of a large district in the southern
part of Trapezitsa, indicate that the construction and maintenance of this building was
probably accomplished by an act of collective patronage by the inhabitants of the city.
