Abstract:

Current research outlines a brief overview of up-to-date autism spectrum interpretations as a complex social, behavioral and communicative development. Current trends in the problem analysis worldwide are presented. Autism spectrum disorders are classified as Neurodevelopmantal disorders which gives a new look to the issue of etiology, prevention and therapy. At the same time, the article identifies new classification criteria set out in ICD-11, which specify intellectual and communicative development. Communication characteristics as well as the and the use of both speech and alternative forms for the development of functional communication are emphasized. The presentation is structured by describing the specifics of the basic forms of communication, understanding and producing language and the communicative behavior
