Резюме:

The paper considers the international dates as an instrument for increasing public knowledge and conversance of questions of global character. The emphasis is laid on days of the ecological calendar connected with main topics, which concern the protection of environment and the sustainable development of human society. General conclusions are drawn from essential messages for achieving the goals of the sustainable development. Activities, methods, and available resources for commemorating the dates are classified, which is an opportunity for informal education of various social groups.
