Резюме:

This paper specifies the place of rural and disadvantaged areas in EU regional policy, as well as the regulatory framework for defining certain areas in Northern Bulgaria as rural and disadvantaged. Attention is also paid to the spatial scope of rural and disadvantaged areas in Northern Bulgaria and their overlap in territorial terms.
