Резюме:

To present the understudied subject of the number of graduates from the first class of the Sofia Military School (Year 1879) would be a challenge, to say the least. While there is a number of studies on the subject that contain concrete data, the different styles of the authors and historians, as well as the different ways they analyze documents and data, lead to greatly varying results. Bearing the above in mind, it is obvious that the issue cannot be left as it is, and there is a need for clarifications. This paper aims to accomplish the above by pinpointing the number of officer graduates, who they were and what ranks they had. At the end of the body text, you will find a list of officer graduates from the first class. This list includes their names, as well as variations of them, as they are found in other documents. The list does not intend to provide information on the birth places of the graduates and on the geographical region they came from. Providing such information is beyond the topic of this paper, and it will require a separate piece of research.
