Резюме:

The Soviet Union is long gone but the memory of it is still alive. And not only the memory of it, but also the way of thinking and acting. The question here is: what makes a country – no matter how it is called and who governs is to function in the same way? Who is the holder/ subject of the historical information who puts it into practice? The articles aims at answering these questions by funneling the attention into the historical route of an important for the country class, namely the Soviet nomenklatura and the way it gradually becomes part of the government of the Russian Federation. Every leader of the country has a different position regarding it and leaves its footprint on shaping it. The result is a political class that transformed from professional revolutionaries to quasi-elite, whose actions are not led by Russia’s welfare but by its own interests not only for a particular period of time but as a well-established way of thinking. An attempt was made to trace the formation of the nomenklatura mentality and how it became a role model for the political elites that followed.
