Резюме:

The paper discusses potential domains of semantic extensions of five Russian adjectives belonging to the thematic field temperature, i.e. gorjačij, žarkij, teplyj, proxladnyj, xolodnyj and their Serbian equivalents. The undertaken contrastive analysis has shown that some of the domains in which semantic extensions of the adjectives discussed occur are emotions, interpersonal relations, perception etc. Basic temperature terms are language universals, so a great level of equivalence in both semantics and semantic extensions of the adjectives discussed is not surprising, especially not in two closely related languages as Russian and Serbian.
