Резюме:

The topic of this paper focuses on the Access to Public Information Acts (APIA) as one of the major civil society’s instruments in modern democracies. Their elaboration is the result of the global social and political tendencies on the border of 20th and 21st centuries. The author draws attention to the importance of this type of legislation both for the relations between citizens and institutions and for the effective work of journalists all around the world and in Bulgaria. The aims are to present a students’ experiment conducted during the current academic year, which included practical journalistic work with the local authorities and other institutions, and to prove the necessity for APIA to be systematically included in the practical academic training in journalism.
