Резюме:
The word “crowdsourcing” was coined in 2006 by Jeff Howe to represent the act of a company or institution of taking a function once performed by employees and outsourcing it to an undefined (and generally large) network of people in the form of an open call. It was not originally invented to describe a journalistic model but soon researchers applied it to online journalism theory. The text analyses the theoretical aspects of crowdsourcing and the way in which different researchers vary in the definition of the phenomenon. The text is an attempt to understand the relationship between crowdsourcing and the open source model, crowd wisdom and citizen journalism.
