Резюме:


The paper discusses an interesting trend in contemporary Bulgarian feature films: the emergence of leading female directors in the period between 2010 – 2019 year. Global framework is outlined through the prism of the term women’s cinema and the different approaches in cinema studies in which the female directors achievement has been articulated in the stream of European cinematographic process. The focus of the study is on Victoria (2014) by Maya Vitkova, Thirst (2015) and Sister (2019) by Svetla Tsotsorkova, and Irina (2018) by Nadejda Koseva. The analysis of their acclaimed film’s debuts highlights the differences and communes points in directing styles. The main accent of the text is put on the transformation of the woman/girl’s narrative into contemporary Bulgarian cinema.
