Резюме:
The present study examines some cases of functional substitution of the French vowel [i] and of the Bulgarian [и] in the oral practice of both languages. The research establishes the substituents of the two vowels, the phonetic and phonological consequences as well as the phonetic reasons causing the course of the substitution process under consideration.
