Use of the Relative Participles in the Copy of the First Edition of Hilarion's Slovo o Zakone i Blagodati (Sermon on Law and Grace)

Abstract:

The aim of this work is to examine the use of relative participles in the copy of the first edition of Hilarion's Slovo o zakone i blagodati (Sermon on Law and Grace). The manuscript (Sin № 591) was copied in the second half of the 15th century. The analyze mainly is realized according to the use of the relative participles 1) in the attributive function, 2) in the appositive function and 3) in the predicative function. Among the appositive participles I difference those which can be considered as secondary predicates. Besides I turn my attention to the participles that are used in the other functions. By the research are minded no only the functions of the participles, but their possible changes with the other syntactical constructions.
