Abstract:
The article explores a less widely-known and studied Damaskin dating from the17th century in the collection of Ivan Vazov National Library – Plovdiv. An analysis of the monument is made, whose linguistic characteristics place it among the circle of the manuscript heritage of the Karlovo – Kuklen Calligraphic School. On the basis of an еlaborate analysis it is proven that the monument was created at the end of the 17th century by an anonymous, highly educated man of letters, who, by way of his novelty practice, supports the tendencies of an accessible literary language, close to oral speech.
