Abstract:
The article examines the polysemy of the terminological vocabulary in Old Bulgarian language on a material from Theology by John the Ekzarch. The author analyzes the various mechanisms of origination of polysemy (change of the volume of concept, abstraction, transference), comments upon the main types of the polysemy (conceptual and functional, inter-and-intrasystematic), and dwells on such phenomena as defectiveness of grammatical paradigm of alosems.
