Abstract:
This article examines some of the differences between Bulgarian and Polish speech etiquette, which differences refer to the conventional etiquette formulas in documents. The differences discovered are connected to some grammatical, lexical and semantic characteristics of the respective speech etiquette units, as well as to the standards for presentation of the specific type of text in both cultures. The author analyses some examples and reaches certain conclusions about the equivalence in translation of Bulgarian and Polish etiquette formulas in administrative documentation and official correspondence.
