Abstract:

This paper deals with the examination of Serbian speeches in Romania, more precisely, on the speech of Chakov (Чаково) and Karashev (Карашево). The phonological system of these two structurally different speeches is analyzed. In the speech of Chakov, emphasis is given partly to accent neutralization, whereas the speech by Karashev, in addition to the preserved phonological value of the jat in the phonological system, also has half voice and vocal l. Both speeches are non-balkanized, of which the first is Ekavian, and the other is Jat-Ekavian. Chak‘s speech could have been pre-bowed to the S-V dialect, and Karashev‘s timeline was the Prizren-Timok dialect.
