Abstract:
The subject of the study is the verb, which could be found in the first finished Bulgarian dictionary – “A dictionary of bulgarian language based on folk literary heritage and publications of today’s press" (1885-1889) of the Russian scientist Alexander Duvernois. The descriptive method, the comparative historical and statistical methods are used. The main lexical-grammatical orders of the verb are analyzed by oppositions personal – impersonal verbs, reversible – irreversible (ordinary) verbs, transitive – intransitive verbs, derivative – non-derivative pronouns, one-act – multi-act verbs. The impersonal verbs of the dictionary are grouped into semantic classes and revealed through rich illustrative material. The fixed verb forms are impersonal. Statistical data on verb forms is presented in comparison with the other parts of the speech and the total number of words in the dictionary.
