Abstract:
The deepening of the crises on the Old Continent puts the question of how the media in Europe informs about the EU and pan-European themes. This study aims to highlight the issue of “Mass mediated European public sphere”, which is less well known in the scientific and journalistic debates about the EU in Bulgaria. A critical review of existing developments has been made. The study recognizes that mass mediated European public sphere is crucial to the survival of the European project. Nowadays – as opposed to the pessimism of the 90s of the twentieth century, the realistic view that it is gradually unfolding in different forms gains increasing weight. However, we are still far from a pan-European public sphere.
