Abstract:

The topic of the presented text is the working-bee as a narrative motive in the works of Todor G. Vlaykov and Anton Strashimirov. The article concentrates on the function of the bee in the chosen art works, its different context manifestation in the given work of the author and in the discussed period as well. By using the story sharing ritual while on the bee the authors reconstruct an alternative, utopian world in which the traditionally collective model of behavior is used as the main artistic mechanism and thus illustrates the collapse of the Bulgarian village, the advent of the cracking monolithic patriarchal world and the evergrowing tension, explaining the late manifestation of the late patriarch period.
