Educational Function of Original Television Drama for Children and Youth

Abstract:

This contribution deals with the secondary function of the original TV drama for children and youth, which has a long tradition in Slovakia. Since the beginning of the broadcast, the authors have created dramatic programmes that have familiarized children with literary texts of Slovak and foreign productions, and also produced programmes designed for the needs of television. In the field of original drama, titles can also be recorded, which, in addition to the aesthetic experience, can also be taught. The paper analyzes three selected titles in different years of production (We are little musicians − 1976, Pa Pi – 1986 – 1989, Elf − 1995) which focus on the development of competences in the field of music education, literature, and natural sciences. Selected audiobooks of titles can also be used in the learning process, especially at the primary level of education.
