Abstract:

This article provides a brief overview of Croatian fantastic anthologies, with an attempt for contemporary typology of those in terms of their social function, influence and connection with the modern education system. The article presents the results of an author’s survey into the interest of a sample of Croatian students from various faculties of Zagreb University in the fantastic literary fiction. The survey reveals students’ associations related to the word “anthology” and whether the names of writers that they have already studied at school are familiar to them as part of the core of the Croatian fantastic anthologies.
