Abstract:

In this paper we start from the idea that speaking is the most necessary skill for successful communication, but at the same time, the attention to it in Bulgarian language textbooks as a foreign language is very limited. The review of current textbooks proves that the offered tasks for speaking are too limited in number and types, which is an obstacle for speaking to be more effectively and successfully trained in the classroom. In our opinion, in order to motivate students to produce Bulgarian speech, it is necessary for the speaking tasks to involve them in active interactions and in natural communicative situations. The purpose of our text is to present models of speaking tasks that will enrich the existing teaching practices and in integration with other communication skills to make speaking more effective and successful.
