Abstract:

The paper presents a research on some contemporary issues regarding the problem related to the receptive skills of students, who study Bulgarian as their second language in order of acquisition, as well as some practical tips for improving these skills when interacting with different types of information. In addition, the results of a pedagogical study based on authentic verbal and non-verbal sources of information are presented. The study aims at investigating the skills and attitudes of bilingual children to perceive, comprehend, compare, summarize and apply the information learned to the needs of a particular communicative situation.
