Abstract:

The article deals with racist stereotypes in intercultural children’s literature. Based on ideas by Heidi Rösch and Eske Wollrad, it introduces a catalogue of guidelines covering aspects of narration, characters and plot. The catalogue provides structure for literary analysis aiming to show if and to which extent works of intercultural children’s literature transport racist stereotypes. An exemplary analysis is carried out on Clémentine Beauvais’ debutant novel Dreckstück.
