Abstract:
The paper deals with the manipulative use of proper names of famous people in the British tabloids πβπ ππ’π and πβπ π·ππππ¦ ππππππ. The analyzed linguistic manipulative devices include: use of a forename instead of a proper name and a surname, use of an abbreviated form of a surname, use of an abbreviated name, rhythmical organization of the phrase in the headlines, use of a nickname and use of an abbreviated form of a forename.
