Abstract:

The paper argues the need for the existence of a foreign academic platform for humanitarian studies with a Bulgarian focus. The author points out the current challenges for Bulgaria-related scholarly publications for both Bulgarian and foreign researchers. The project and the previous experience of the Polish Cyrillo-Methodian Papers academic journal are presented. The review of the current situation with Bulgarian studies abroad leads to the conclusions for the existence of a Bulgarian studies platform that should function independently from the Bulgarian state and academic institutions, as well as for strengthening the consolidation between foreign scholars in the field of Bulgarian studies.
