Abstract:

The problem-thematic spectrum of the scientific works of the representatives of the Odessa University, published in the late XX – early XXI century, unites four main groups of problems in the field of Bulgarian studies: synchronic and diachronic studies of the grammar and lexis of Bulgarian dialects in Ukraine; linguistic contacts between the Bulgarian and other ethnic communities in Ukraine; linguistic, cultural and ethnolinguistic picture of the world of Bulgarian emigrants; traditions and modern state of the study of the Bulgarian linguistic enclave. An important achievement of linguists in this field has been the publication of works on onomastics, ritual vocabulary, cross-linguistic onomasiological parallels, semantic adaptation of borrowings, and archaic features preserved in the Bulgarian languages of Ukraine.
