Features of a Type of Adverbial Units and Their Orthographic Codification in the Bulgarian Language

Abstract:

: The article examines the compound adverbial units such as “from top to bottom”, “from left to right”, “live”, and others. Some of their grammatical and structural characteristics are being outlined. The orthographic codification of these expressions is primarily analyzed in the Official Dictionary of Standard Bulgarian Spelling, comparing the standard orthography of these adverbial phrases with their use in spoken practice. The conclusions regarding the spelling of these adverbial expressions are based on material excerpted from two corpora: WeBCLaRK and CLaDA.
