Abstract:

The paper analyses some cases of non-normative substitution of the medium vowels [о], [î] and of the open vowel [о] in spoken French and in some of its varieties, spoken outside the territory of France, as well as some cases of the non-normative substitution of the open vowel [о] in the Bulgarian language and in its dialectical expression. Non-normative substitution in both languages occurs mostly under the dialect influence with the interference of various factors in its activity: segment surroundings, place of the emphasis, syllable type (open/closed), action of the assimilation processes, faster articulation.
