Abstract:
This paper analyzes some cases of non-normative substitution of the velar consonants [k, g, ŋ] and [k, г, х] by other sound in the spoken language of French and Bulgarian. The purpose of the report is to study which velar consonants are subject to this type of change, by what kind of consonants they are most frequently replaced and which are the phonetic factors, determining the process under research. Occurring non-normative changes are examined at a sub-phoneme level as a substitution of one or several phonological features leading to a substitution of the velar consonants in both languages by other type of sound: nasal consonants, oral consonants, semi-consonants, vowels.
