This report examines a topic that has become particularly relevant in recent years – the place of artificial intelligence in the expanding billion-dollar art market industry. It presents up-to-date statistics – the top three art markets in the world are the USA with 42%, China with 19%, and the United Kingdom with a share of 17%, in 2023, the global art market was valued at $65 billion, and the wealth of the world's billionaires has grown to $13.7 trillion – and many other statistics. The report also presents some very profitable key art projects created with the use of artificial intelligence and digitization. Artists create digital images using blockchain mechanisms for migrating editions to originals, removing them entirely from the artist's control and thus generating millions of dollars in profit. The report explores also the impact of new technologies on the development of art, as well as the ethical issue related to AI-generated art, as it leads to the undervaluing of human-created art. Last but not least, the report poses a number of philosophical questions about the art market development and the cultural discourse of the future.
