In this article the development of the integrated information system for the management of the University of Veliko Tarnovo (VTU) since its creation in 1999 to nowadays is tracked down on the basis of the years-long studies of the author in the area of the information systems in education and on his twenty years of experience as a head of the University computer and information centre at VTU and a creator of the integrated information system of VTU in the form in which it is functioning in reality nowadays, also considering his experience as an university lecturer
