Резюме:
In this article I discuss the concept of “Counter-Reform” in its
genesis in the field of the church history and its implications for the
study of developments and tendencies in the 16th century Catholicism.
Considering its counter-semantics I ponder the interpretative possibilities
of two alternative concepts, applied to the description of 16th
century Catholicism: “Catholic Reform” and “Early Modern Catholicism”.
This two concepts appear to be more appropriate for an analysis
of the part, played by Catholicism in the general process of early
modern social disciplining. As a representative example of this participation
are considered the activities of the Jesuits which demonstrate
the modernizing potential of the “Counter-Reform”.
