Focusing on the reprint (Second edition) of Ivan Meshekov’s book “Towards Realist Criticism”, the text highlights the innovatory character and the original poetics of the literary critic Ivan Meshekov. The author outlines five principal parts in Meshekov’s literary-critical heritage but he deals chiefly with the genre of the critical interpretative monograph and with the critic’s theoretical conceptions which are based on the method of induction rather than the method of deduction.
