Резюме:

The article discusses the origin of several Balkan borrowings in Bulgarian, which are attested in the Bulgarian dialects in different variants [хандй, андй, ханай ‘floor; veranda, porch, loggia; guest room, reception room; corri dor, hallway; storeroom’; (x)anyc / (х)апуз, хапъз / (х)апъс, (x)anc ‘prison; prisoner’ and (х)апсана, хапъсхана, (х)апус(х)ана ‘prison’]. The reasons for their different phonetic forms are clarified by searching for the correct foreign language etymon. In the first case, it is a Greek borrowing, which penetrated directly into the Bulgarian language, but also with Turkish mediation. In the second case, it is on the one hand an Arabic loanword that penetrated into the Bulgarian language through different Ottoman Turkish forms and through Turk ish dialects, and on the other hand a hybrid Arabic-Persian word that came through Ottoman Turkish.
