This announcement is devoted to a still unstudied problem – the usage of the words “pillar” and “cross” in the novel “Master i Margarita” by M. A. Bulgakov. In the stated study is cleared the usage of these words. Special attention is paid to the meaning of the words “pillar” and “cross”. The language material is extracted from the Russian original of Bulgakov’s novel and from the original of the New Testament.
