Резюме:
The article explores the writing career of Bulgarian poet Emanuil Popodimitrov (1885–1943), starting with his early poems in 1904 and ending with his collection of poems Universe (1924). Popdimitrov’s work is examined in terms of his changing attitude to symbolist aesthetics. The analysis takes into account reviews and articles by literary critics of the first half of the twentieth century as well as later interpretations some of which are controversial in character. The article aims at presenting a wide range of aspects of the author’s personality and texts.
